Today I took a break from my own cares and joined an ad hoc group of volunteers at an organization called Feed My Starving Children. Our volunteer group included high school kids, construction workers, Girl Scouts, a Church Group and one computer geek (me). In two and a half hours we mixed, bagged and boxed enough food to feed 40 Haitian kids for a whole year.
It was just awesome to take a two-hour vacation from my own life and invest my time in someone else's. If you are looking to invest your time or money in an organization that really makes a difference, then I highly recommend you consider Feed My Starving Children. These folks are the real deal.
